How do I know if my Windows PC has UEFI?
In Windows Search, type msinfo or msinfo32 and launch the desktop app named System Information. Look for the BIOS Mode item, and if the value for it is UEFI, then you have the UEFI firmware. If it says BIOS Mode Legacy, then that’s the firmware you’re running.
Secure Boot is supported, but unless you know exactly how to handle it, it is a P.I.T.A. at best so I am going to say...you must disable Secure Boot to enable stress free computing.

Having problems upgrading?
First thing to do is open a terminal, and make sure you have the latest version of Lite Upgrade.
Code: apt policy lite-upgrade-series7
should return:
Code: Installed: 7.0-0020-linuxlite
Candidate: 7.0-0020-linuxlite
If you've ran Install Updates and still don't have this version or greater you can either - wait 24 hours, or change to the default Linux Lite repository in Lite Sources.
There is no upgrade path from RC to Final or from Series to Series.

Login is automatic, no credentials are required. The image can be written to a 4gb or larger USB stick, or a writable DVD. Alternatively, you can use the dd command: sudo dd if=linux-lite-7.2-64bit.iso of=/dev/sdx bs=4M where 'x' is the letter of your usb stick. In linux to find out the letter of your usb stick, open a terminal and type: df -h It is usually listed as 'media' or similar. I'm trying to find a compatible newer all-in-one hp printer that would work on my Lite 6.6. I have an older hp/Compaq mini-tower, and my current hp Office Jet 3830 works fine, except it has a major issue when feeding paper. It's not worth the expense to get it fixed. I'm trying to stay with hp because I have the "instant ink" feature. I'm looking for something between $50-$99. Suggestions? Thanks.

Hello from Kentucky. I've been retired a few years, but am working part time. I've been a Linux user for about 15 years, mostly (and currently), Linux Lite. No regrets. It's great to have support like this. I've been to this forum before, but have now officially registered.

Hello! I'm in need for some partitioning guidance on a Asus Notebook UX32VD. It currently runs Windows 10, but I would like a Linux only system for a single-user that will (almost) only use it for browsing the internet. Trying to keep it as simple as possible.
Device specification:
- i7-3517U CPU
- 4GB RAM
- i100 24GB SSD (soldered)
- 500GB HDD
The main part I'm not sure about is the best use of the 24GB SSD, only place root or also swap here? Or maybe it's better to have all the partitions on the HDD?
I'm also interested in recommendations on the size of swap, and if there is a need for more than swap, root, and home partitions in my case.

when I try to use lite-upgrade software to upgrade from Linux Lite 6.6 to 7 I get the following error message:
