I remote into another laptop with NoMachine and Teamviewer and the linux lite 5.0 is "session lock" and usually a press of the mouse brings me to the login screen. This time it wont go there. Is the a bug in this version of linux lite? Can anyone help figure it out?

Need help with ASUSTek usb wifi
Posted by: ohjrson - 10-13-2020, 06:51 PM - Forum: Network - Replies (4)

Hey, I have an AsusTek usb wifi that does not seem to be turning on. I think it needs a driver. But I am not sure where to get it from. I have looked in the forum and have had no luck. The actual cd that comes with it says there is a driver for Linux but I don't know how to install it. Any help would be great
thanks

LL 5.0 welke kernel gebruiken? Which kernel should I favor?
Posted by: pkmaarsen - 10-12-2020, 08:03 PM - Forum: Netherlands [Dutch] - No Replies

Paul.

A few weeks ago I switched from LL 3.8 to LL 5.0.
My old HP 7800 started up very slowly compared to LL 3.8. I found somewhere the remark that Ubuntu kernel 5.4.0 is much heavier than kernel 4.15.0. Therefore I stepped back from LL 5.0 to LL 4.8. This made my system start up much faster.
I wonder if it possible to run LL 5.0 using a kernel of the 4.x series such as 4.15.0.?

  Installing Chromium browser
Posted by: cantagril - 10-07-2020, 06:16 PM - Forum: Installing Software - Replies (4)

Another one that's bound to be my ignorance:
Sorry in advance, this is another stupid one:

I want to install Chromium - I don't like Chrome (or Firefox) and I currently have Chromium installed on my U16.04 machine and a couple of others and I'd really like to stick with it.

I read a post here:  https://www.linuxliteos.com/forums/insta...do-i-tick/

This clearly says I should be installing from Lite Software and one of the posts refers to a Search box but on my Lite Software I can't see one...so don't get as far as having the option to click.

Where should I be looking?

Reverse Scrolling is not working despite activating it in touchpad settings
Posted by: asoni - 10-07-2020, 06:36 AM - Forum: Security & Bug Fixes - Replies (2)

I installed the Linux Lite operating system on my computer just today. I am liking it, however, the scrolling direction in the touchpad is in the opposite direction. I soon found the reverse scrolling option in the touchpad settings, and activated it right after but nothing has changed. I tried rebooting too, no change. Please suggest me a fix to get back my reverse scrolling. I love it. Please someone help me

All the photos disappeared instanly by themselves....
Posted by: Rapidrob - 10-06-2020, 07:00 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (4)

I put Linux Lite 4.8 on my friends desktop computer and all went well.
He's been using the computer with no errors for four days now. He went to his Photos folder where I had placed several thousand of his photos of all types and the folder is  now empty. Not one photo was present. I had him go to the recycle bin and it too was empty.
He says he did not delete any photos but did up load more photos from a thumb drive. They uploaded with no issues.
I had him check to see if somehow the photos file was sent to the thumb-drive,they had not.
Any ideas as to what has happened to his photos or where they went?
