| LibreOffice update |

Any timetable for including an updated version of LibreOffice?
Current version appears to be 6.4.3.3 which has a nasty usability gap in the print dialog for LO Writer when used on 1024x768 or smaller screens (the print dialog is too tall and you can't click OK to... actually print!).
LO developers say the fix is in 6.4.4 but that doesn't seem to have rolled out yet.
Or is the alternative to uninstall the version that comes with LL and then download and install the .deb and fix up all the paths etc.?

So the WiFi doesnt work
I am kind of new to Linux. I experimented with it in 2017 but have now fully gotten back in to it. I run PopOS on my main desktop, Lubuntu on a slow laptop and was trying to install Linux Lite on my 17" i3 laptop, because running Windows is possible but slow (and the laptop isn't being used, so I saw it as an opportunity to mess around with Linux Lite). The only problem is that it doesn't want to connect to the WiFi. When I connect I can enter my password and it says connected, but then in the bottom-right the circle keeps spinning and later is says " disconnected" ... I have tried searching the internet but the commands shown don't work. Can someone help?
Edit: Just installed Linux Lite on another laptop, and that one is able to connect to the WiFi.

Hi all,
Sadly LL right now is a bit unusable to me.
I had to switch to Chrome a FF is completely broken. After starting it I get an unresponsive window and closing it again gets me the Mozilla Crash reporter.
I installed Chrome through Lite Software but now updating throws this error:
Code: W: GPG-Fehler: http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb stable InRelease: Die folgenden Signaturen konnten nicht überprüft werden, weil ihr öffentlicher Schlüssel nicht verfügbar ist: NO_PUBKEY 78BD65473CB3BD13
E: Das Depot »http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb stable InRelease« ist nicht signiert.
Google says to run this command:
Code: wget -q -O - https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -
Doing so return this:
Code: gpg: invalid key resource URL '/tmp/apt-key-gpghome.AYG58HOID0/network:messaging:xmpp:dino.asc.gpg'
gpg: keyblock resource '(null)': General error
gpg: key 62EB1A0917280DDF: 1 signature not checked due to a missing key
gpg: key 3B4FE6ACC0B21F32: 3 signatures not checked due to missing keys
gpg: key D94AA3F0EFE21092: 3 signatures not checked due to missing keys
gpg: key 871920D1991BC93C: 1 signature not checked due to a missing key
gpg: key 7721F63BD38B4796: 2 signatures not checked due to missing keys
gpg: Total number processed: 10
gpg: skipped new keys: 10
Afterwards I still can't update and I have no idea what to do.
Edit: For now my workaround is to deactivate the chrome repo in the software list.

Trying to use this procedure I found online:
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=286908
I know this is from a Linux Mint forum, but not sure why it would not work as the base is still Ubuntu 18.04.
Here are my terminal errors:
Welcome to Linux Lite 4.8 larrypc

larrypc ~ locate .config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css

I usually make appearance changes in userchrome.css, but that does not apparently work with this version of Firefox.
Any other suggestions appreciated.

Greetings! Relatively new user to Linux, I worked with Mint for a year but when my hard drive hosed I decided to give Linux Lite a try and I must say I am very impressed. So far everything is working well but I have one minor annoyance which disturbs an anal-retentive individual such as myself. After installing everything I did when I normally did when installing Linux Mint and other distros, I installed Libre Office forgetting the Linux Lite had it.
To my surprise, when I click on Menu->Office I see TWO listings for Word Processor, SpreadSheet and Presentation. Everything works superbly but this is just a minor annoyance. I see that I can HIDE the icons but my concern is that if I tell it to hide one of the
Word Processor listings....both will do so.
Any suggestions? Thanks for reading.

| Update notifier: Install updates disabled |

[SOLVED]
Hi!
I like very much the Update notifier!
Problem is the "Install Updates" option, is disabled (grayed). Why is that so?
The program/script /usr/bin/lite-updates works fine for me (I put it on a button) so as I see, all it takes is to put the command on the menu item.
What could possibly happen if this would be enabled?
Worst case scenario is it does nothing.
Thanks in advance!
[Later edit, problem [SOLVED], 23-Jul-2020]
Problem consisted in a bad predefined binary for updates installer.
After installation, we need to:
- Left click the tray icon;
- Click the "Preferences..." menu item;
- In the dialog, insert the following command: [b]
Code: /usr/bin/lite-updates
Now it works flawlessly.
It has a little lag after you change the setting but in the end, it works. Same lag appears after an update, but in some 15 - 30 seconds (on Dell Precision T1700) it will update. The lag possibly depends on the machine's resources as it is a matter of internal OS messaging queue.
Hope this will help if anyone encounters the same problem.

I have just installed Lite 5.0 (a clean install) on a new build PC using old parts and it seems to be running rather slow, for example if I shut down Firefox and click on Menu, it can take up to 10 sec for the menu to open. It is as if Linux is using the hard disk to shift data instead of RAM.
When I use the drives icon and try to open the hard disk I get an error "Can't mount file". Is this normal? When using the Disks app to look at the hard disk partitions there is a FAT32 partition there even though I used the option to erase the disk at install.
I'm afraid I am finding Linux very strange after being a Windows user for a long time and my experience with the command line is very limited so please be gentle with me. BTW, I have searched the forum for answer to this stuff with no luck, but that could be because I don't understand the replies to the posts!
