Hello,
I had a nasty experience trying to re-install DB. I had probably tried to install it and renounced a couple of months ago without finishing the importation of my thousands of files. I used the easy install option ("Lite software") and selected DB.
When it started to install it, it first told me that the DB folder had been moved and that i should put it back in the home folder.
Since i was unable to find any DB folder anywhere, I created one in the home folder, called Dropbox, as requested by the install process, and I re-launched the application and it started syncing and indexing.
As i was t ying to see the progression in the window called DB, i could not see anything, although the machine was showing some activity for 2 hours;
then suddenly i started to see on my laptop, where the DB is running on Win7, some notifications telling me that folders and files were deleted;
i stopped the program on the linux machine, contacted the online chat of DB, and indeed, the linux machine was deleting all my files
i just restaured and desinstalled DB (using synaptic).
Any explanation?
Is there any way to install DB on LL safely and locally?
Thanks!
E

| How do you adjust Icon size in files? |

Linux Lite 4.6.
I went to control panel and adjusted the theme I wanted and adjusted the Icon size on my desktop. This worked as expected.
However, the Icons in my files ( document, photos, etc) are too large in NORMAL. I have to ZOOM OUT in order to size them the way I want.
The help manual does not show how to adjust these Icons.
Is there a way to reduce the Icon size in the NORMAL setting when my files are opened?

Just updated my LL 4.6 and rebooted. I was given an error message saying my secondary (spinning, about a year old) drive is about to fail. Maybe it is, or maybe it's something having to do with the update. Has anybody else had something like this happen? I continued the reboot and the drive appears to be working fine, which is meaningless if there's actually some sort of real failure involved. I just don't know how accurate the warning message is, I guess.

For those that have LightScribe DVD writers, the following should work.
FYI - this is a combination of many tutorials that I have poured over for hours to get to this point and to make everything work as it should, with a lot of customization.
Code: wget https://www.linuxliteos.com/files/lightscribe/4l_1.0-r6_i386.deb
wget https://www.linuxliteos.com/files/lightscribe/lightscribe-1.18.27.10-linux-2.6-intel.deb
wget https://www.linuxliteos.com/files/lightscribe/lightscribeApplications-1.18.15.1-linux-2.6-intel.deb
Code: sudo dpkg -i *.deb
sudo apt-get install -f
Now to check if everything went to plan, you should get a readout from:
similar to:
Code: Using /etc/lightscribe.rc
Drive path: /dev/sr0
Usable: 1
Full name: hp DVD-RAM GH60L RD01 217
Model: DVD-RAM GH60L
Manufacturer: hp
Capabilities: monochrome
Drive inner radius: 21000
Drive outer radius: 58700
Then look in, Menu, Multimedia, Lightscribe Labeler.

I just downloaded Linux Lite 4.6 ( 4.15.0-72 X86_64 )and was reloading software for use.
I have downloaded several programs without an issue.
I then selected and downloaded WEATHER MONITOR and it completed the download.
Now, I cannot find it anywhere. Under MENU and a search, nothing shows up,just the L/L Feather icon when I type the program.
The software is under "REMOVE" but I cannot find it to open and run the software.
Please help.

Hi there!
I've already seen this question posted, but couldn't find a solution to work for me. Please keep in mind that I'm new with Linux and don't know much about it.
So, I installed Linux Lite, I already set up the partitions, but I can't figure how to mount them.
My fdisk -l results are as follows:
Disk /dev/sda: 465,8 GiB, 500107862016 bytes, 976773168 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 4096 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x53e74323
Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
/dev/sda1 * 2048 146485247 146483200 69,9G 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 146487294 976771071 830283778 395,9G 5 Extended
/dev/sda5 146487296 732422143 585934848 279,4G 83 Linux
/dev/sda6 732424192 771483647 39059456 18,6G 82 Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/sda7 771485696 976771071 205285376 97,9G 83 Linux
Partition 2 does not start on physical sector boundary.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I am using LinuxLite 4.4 64 bits and Falkon 3.0.1.
I saw Faklon 3.1 is now available ont the falkon.org site.
But using Synaptic, only Falkon 3.0.0 is listed.
I also try to install Falkon Appimage 3.0.1 but it doesn't work (other users have the same problem using Debian or Ubuntu distros).
How to solve this problem ?
Thanks in advance for your ideas and help.
