NASA lied to us. The Earth, our home, is really flat and stationary/non-moving. If you watch both flat earth proof videos above, you will realize this.

LL install hangs at Updates and other software
Posted by: kpc1974 - 08-12-2023, 08:50 PM - Forum: Installing Linux Lite - Replies (4)

Hello!

I'm brand new to Linux and am installing 6.4 for the first time on an old Dell Inspiron 1564, i3 HM55, 8 Gb RAM, 1Tb SSD (newly installed), ethernet connection. Using a Direct Install from USB, it hangs up during "Updates and other software." I unchecked "Install third party software," but it continues to hang up. When I try to install the updates from the Updates Window, I get the following message:

Like I said, I am brand new to Linux, even though I am a Windows advanced user. Any help, with instructions written for a Linux novice, would be SUPER appreciated!

Thanks!

Posted by: TannicArcher - 08-12-2023, 03:44 PM - Forum: Video Cards - No Replies

Hello guys, this is the problem with the video driver, my native driver is AMD 6290 graphics, but some kind of Palm is preinstalled in the system and because of this driver I can’t play normally from the word it gives out 20 fps in the first DOOM on Windows there was no such problem.

Change default sound card in Pulse Audio
Posted by: johnnyboy5000 - 08-11-2023, 06:07 PM - Forum: Sound - Replies (1)

I've installed JACK 2 and pulse-module-jack. The system works really well, expect for that I want Jack sink(PulseAudio Jack Sink) to be my default sound card instead of my audio interface. Every time linuxlite boots up, the sound card is always my audio interface and I have to manually change it in the speaker icon to Jack sink(PulseAudio Jack Sink). I want it to be Jack sink(PulseAudio Jack Sink) because I can listen youtube on chrome and record it into my DAW Bitwig.  It's just a pain to have to manual change it every time the computer starts up.  I'm on LL6.4. Thanks.

  Sourceforge Hosting Linux Lite
Posted by: Valtam - 08-09-2023, 06:48 AM - Forum: On Topic - Replies (2)

We've been trying for sometime to contact OSDN regarding our (ISO) file hosting for Linux Lite, but to no avail.
Sourceforge have been around a very long time, so we are hosting over there now:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/linux-lite/

We still have our international mirrors available, this just gives people another option to download Linux Lite.

  Visibility/Legibility
Posted by: D.Smithee - 08-05-2023, 03:55 PM - Forum: Suggestions and Feedback - Replies (1)

Just a shout out to the Lite team for making this distro not only the best iteration of XFCE I've ever witnessed, but for paying particular attention to the visibility/legibility of the distro.

I'm a 52 year old dude whose eyes aren't what they used to be, so I REALLY appreciate this attention to detail.
