Hi All,

I have been downloading/installing Viber Messenger; apparently, the process is fine but when wishing to configure Viber something is wrong: is like it does'nt see that I have Viber on the phone too and the process aborts.
Maybe is Viber's packet fault, am writing just to know if anyone got the same problem.

Am experiencing a funny problem: at startup a window comes out informing me that /downloads does'nt exist or maybe needing to configure with "blueman" services.
The folder is there even with subfolders in it and I don't have any idea of what "blueman" is.
Was wishing to be hereby attaching image of that window but the Forum allowing only .txt attachments. I suggest to the Forum Administrator to improve the service, does'nt make sense allowing only .txt files, in my opinion 

This topic may have been covered if so please accept my apologies. This article may be useful to windows users looking to boot into Linux Light. The secure boot disable option is of course up to the producer of the computer. Mine had windows 10 and fortunately I could disable secure boot and engage legacy to boot Linux Light or any other Linux distro that may not have a key for Microsoft. Hope it helps.

While I was waiting for LL 3.0 to be released I tried out the pre-release copy of the distro Xubuntu 16.04 (Quite liked it). One thing I really liked was the 'Gnome Software Center'. I noticed it listed in Synaptic, so I installed it for LL 3.0. I certainly know how to use it, but is it OK to use on Linux Lite? As we all know Linux Lite is a heavily modified system. There's nothing wrong with 'Synaptic', but there are a few features about Gnome SC I like. Gnome SC was a great piece of software for Xubuntu, but is it for LL? Thanks to any & all. By the way: If it's OK for LL, check it out.

I have been using grub customizer (version 5.0.6-0ubuntu), an excellent tool for editing the grubscreen on my Dell laptop, where I have several operating systems installed. Grub customiser installed & worked smoothly with LL2.8, but I appear to have a glitch with it, when trying to install it on LL3.0.

When I attempt to install it in LL3.0, using gdebi package manager, I get the following feedback from gdebi and as a result gdebi is unable to proceed any further:

Hi All 

After reading nice rewievs of Linux Lite 3.0 I have been wishing to try it and just installed, still personalizing it but already got a small problem: installed GuvcWiev by "Lite Software" I don't get video.
Better, it is recording but I hear only the voice, the image is like a pic not video.
Please, do anyone knowing how to fix that issue?

One of my laptops has LL2.8 installed on its HDD,  along with more than 20 other distros.
I have just installed LL3.0 next to 2.8, the newer version now being in charge of the grubscreen.
However, though I can boot into LL3.0, when I choose to boot from LL2.8 (selecting it from the grublist) it refuses to boot.

Therefore, it seems that when I install two different versions of LL (on the same HDD), only the last installed version is bootable.  Is there something I can do so that either version is bootable (i.e. they are mutually compatible) or am I just stuck with being able to boot only the last installed LL version?

i have 16 GB USB drive. When i plug it on  linux lite its not being detected.Before it used to work fine and the same usb drive when i plug it on windows it is detected and its also detected on Linux lite disk utility as well
but its not detected on linux lite.

I've read a number of comments on the internet now that state that 'upgrades in Linux Lite 3.x is like how Windows 10 is pushing their upgrades' This is possibly one of the most inaccurate analogies in regard to Linux Lite that I have seen to date. This thread is an opportunity to clear some things up.

So what happens during these 'Automatic Upgrades'?

- The Windows 10 comparison. The Windows 10 upgrade is from 7 or 8 to Windows 10. Thats analogous to us suggesting you upgrade from Series 2.x to Series 3.x In actuality a feature that people have asked me to implement, but for which I have resisted against. The Windows 7 to Windows 10 upgrade is a huge change in UI, we would never make such a radical change within a Series.

- Only new programs are added. Some of these will be system features. libhal for example. Not an actual application that you click on and use, but instead a deb package that allows folks to watch Hulu in their browser. I will only add applications that have wide appeal and that have been requested by people, eg. when I added Systemback.

- Ubuntu upgrades you automatically within their LTS series. I'm not saying we're doing it because they do it, it's just interesting to see the same people who are saying they don't want theses upgrades on LL, are using or have used Ubuntu.

- There are no changes to your home folder in Series 3.x. In Series 2.x we did make changes to your home folder. In hindsight, this is somewhat intrusive. eg. you may already be using a custom terminal theme that you spent time creating, only to have me change it to something else.

I hope this makes the automatic upgrade process in Series 3.x a lot clearer.
