Watched an individual throw a 14 inch laptop Hp in the dumpster with the AC power converter.
I started it at home. Oh the windows 7 screen,
restarted and went to the Bios Disable Secure boot and fast boot.
Installed Linux Lite 6.2 New version.
A few days later asked the individual if he was in the market for a laptop?
Yes depending on the price. My reply was it has a firewall set up already, GUFW.
and the price is $1.00 USD. His reply was..Hey my old laptop. Here is your new password.
Here is how you operate & update your new operating system.
We now have a good neighbor policy, thanks to Linux Lite. :008:

Howdy folks,
My laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ56 dual boot running Windows 7 home premium and Linux Lite 5.8, Intel Celeron processor 2.20 gigahertz single core single thread, 4 gb of ram. I was concerned with the new Linux Lite series 6.0 going to Chrome as a default browser as all of us Windows know it completely slows down an old processor. I downloaded the Linux version of Chrome from the Lite software repository and installed it, updated to the latest version via the synaptics package manager and gave it a test drive. I was pleasantly surprised when looking at the task manager after initial start up @ 100% on the cpu it dropped down to 7% when it came up and I started using it, so if you have an old machine with specs like mine don't be worried as it works well.

So after a few installations of LL 6.2 (no updates during installation) i noticed a pattern. After booting for first time and doing: Code: sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
i got an error while updating: After executing once again the above commands seems to fix the problem but on my first install i didn't notice the error and rebooted the machine which result in kernel headers missing and a few basic kernel modules. I will try an install again in a VM to replicate the problem so i can provide more feedback if needed. Logs below:

Hello everyone,
I recently upgraded my desktop from LL 5.8 to LL 6.2 and i would like to point out that i was amazed. So much more responsive and fluid UI. Also things that i instantly noticed that got fixed: - Using the Super key to open the menu now its almost instant
- Using Super+L to lock screen now works, previously i had to first press Super+L and then click one time with mouse to work
The only thing i noticed and didn't like but i can live without is Firefox. I gave snap a chance for Firefox but soon i will switch to a static build.
After upgrading my browser i went ahead and did 3 more installation of LL 6.2 and i found a bug which i will open a different topic about. Mostly my experience was amazing and it continues being amazing. Plus i managed to pull another Windows user into the beautiful world of GNU/Linux :027:
Keep up the great work Jerry and everyone who contributes to this project.

Hi, Lighters! I lost my installation password, but finally managed to change it with the help of the excellent Help Manual. There are almost 400 pending updates (ouch) but when I tried to update I got this message. Please help?

We're changing Repositories, Install Updates may be down for a while. We'll keep you notified.
This means that if you run Install Updates, and you get an error, the new Repository has not yet had it's DNS records updated. Usually this takes a period of up to 24 hours to be recognized.

I'm not really a newbie, as I've been a GNU/Linux user since December 2003, but on the Web since 2013... I'm a very satisfied Linux Lite user.
