Photo Import message keeps popping up even when ignored
Posted by: loid - 09-28-2022, 01:54 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (1)

A photo card has been detected

There are photos on the card.  Would you like to add these photos to your album?

Ignore (button)    Import Photos  (button)

------------

The above message has been popping up about every 10 minutes if I close it.  Currently I have it minimized and thus out of the way ...  Confusedhrug
By the way I do have photos already archived on an external drive that it seems to me referencing. However I do not want to add them into my Lite photo album.

  Wine 7 key problem.
Posted by: Byk Fernando - 09-26-2022, 02:55 PM - Forum: Installing Software - No Replies

Hello. I try to install new Wine 7 using this tutorial https://wiki.winehq.org/Ubuntu evrything was okay but when update i get problem with key

GPG error: https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu jammy InRelease: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 76F1A20FF987672F

That is strange because i installed development version on Linux Lite before, and worked ok.

  Canon Pixma TS5150 scanner driver
Posted by: petelobus - 09-24-2022, 02:28 PM - Forum: Printing and Scanning - Replies (1)

Is there a method of making the Canon TS5150 work with simple scan, or Skanlite? I can get it to scan using the Canon ScangearMP2-3.50, but its quite restrictive. I'm running LinuxLite3.6.

Thanks Ian

  Trialling New Forum Theme

I'm trialing a new Forum theme. Can you please select the theme 'South' in your Profiles and see what you think. The colors are not final, so please, suggest some that would be good, night and day. Seems to be a lot faster? Thank you.

Swapped the PC and having issues mounting external drives.
Posted by: XtraKargo - 09-24-2022, 02:00 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (1)

Good morning.

I was hoping someone may know an answer to this.  I have ran LL on a Thinkpad now for around 5 years. I had issues with the previous laptop from water damage, and then purchased the exact same model used, and swapped RAM and the SSD.  All the other programs are running as it should, and if it is updates or software on the SSD it works fine.

When connecting a USB or SD card to the system I cannot mount them.  It states I am not authorized.  I am not a Linux Savvy person, but I am Google Savvy, and so far my Google Fu has not found me the correct answers.  Before nuking the entire image and starting over I thought I would reach out to the forums.

Thanks for looking, and any advice is appreciated.

  Embed video in posts
Posted by: Şerban S. - 09-21-2022, 09:51 AM - Forum: Suggestions and Feedback - No Replies

Hello! Smile

One thing I find extremely useful to add to the forum interface: a button to embed videos, usually YouTube.
I make video tutorials from time to time, and it will be very useful to have the possibility to embed such videos in posts.
Further more, some tutorials are more useful if they are made as videos.
One example:
Embedding images in a post, is by far more easier to understand in a video. Actually, I made one for my own use.
It takes too much to write and explain in words what otherwise is more suitable in a video format.
The changes required to the forum code, are explained in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxce5nKIe5k

I guess the changes are quite similar to write the code for SMF (the above video is for phpBB Forums).
On the SMF Forum, I found this:

https://custom.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=3982

However, I also found a video related to editing post options, but it is unclear if there is a tag/code for video embedding, to activate from there and the video is outdated (2010).
Here is the video, anyway. Might help:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i69kI4yk4Ds

I liked the snippet with VideoID instead of qualified URL, mostly for the security reasons, but also for simplicity... Smile

Code:
[yt]{youtube ID}[/yt]

So... Is it doable?

Best regards! Smile

Later edit:

After pressing "Post" and reviewing the post, I saw that the YouTube links have been rendered as a video frame, which was missing in the "preview post" mode.
Still, I'm concerned with the security of this solution.
I have to admit that if it works, it is a fast way to include a video, but it will be more "forum like" to have a BB code, like the one for images:

Code:
[img]IMGURlink[/img]

Best regards!

  No Sound in my system
Posted by: iamrealbhuvi - 09-19-2022, 07:01 AM - Forum: Sound - Replies (2)

There is no sound in my system speakers.
I tried "inxi -SMA" in my terminal and it showed like this.
It shows two sound devices in the audio in the section, one is Intel and another is Nvidia.
