Re: Opera (+ Chrome) Browser and Linux Lite Problems [Can not be solved] - rijnsma - 02-19-2016 Thanks for answering! What do I have to do with it? Install from the repo? Not sure if that will make a difference at all. Browsers are going through a support upheaval of sorts that is also effecting email clients and music players in linux. Here is some educational info on what I am talking about. http://www.pcworld.com/article/3034014/linux/linux-distros-arent-updating-webkit-making-web-browsers-and-email-clients-vulnerable.html Re: Opera (+ Chrome) Browser and Linux Lite Problems [Can not be solved] - rijnsma - 02-20-2016 Okay and thanks. I went back to the Chromium Mint-version. So no more Chrome-stable at this moment. ![]() I noticed in Chrome also a message: 'they will not support opdates in 32 bits anymore within a short while'. Opera is an old, for the desktop not maintained browser, so not too much complaints here. But Chrome... I don't believe it.... : ![]() So now I do things with Firefox, Chromium and Opera. Each has plussides and lesser ones. Re: Opera (+ Chrome) Browser and Linux Lite Problems [Can not be solved] - LL-user - 02-20-2016 Sorry, are we only talking about the 32-bit version? Cause I've Opera installed and just tested to browse around the Linux Lite Forums without problems. From the About Opera menu page: Version: 35.0.2066.68 - Opera is up to date Update stream: Stable System: Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS (x86_64; XFCE) Re: Opera (+ Chrome) Browser and Linux Lite Problems [Can not be solved] - rijnsma - 02-20-2016 Yes, 32 bits. Opera says: Quote:Unable to complete secure transaction 99 % of other sites are o.k.. But I have seen it also on some other ones. In the meantime Chromium is doing o.k. instead of Chrome. Re: Opera (+ Chrome) Browser and Linux Lite Problems [Can not be solved] - LL-user - 02-20-2016 Thanks for clarifying ![]() Re: Opera (+ Chrome) Browser and Linux Lite Problems [Can not be solved] - rijnsma - 02-20-2016 You're welcome. ![]() Re: Opera (+ Chrome) Browser and Linux Lite Problems [Can not be solved] - avj - 02-20-2016 You might want to check the minimum system requirements for opera at the following link. What version of Linux Lite are you running? http://www.opera.com/download/requirements/ The output from the following terminal command might help as well. Code: inxi -Fxz Re: Opera (+ Chrome) Browser and Linux Lite Problems [Can not be solved] - rijnsma - 02-20-2016 I don't think it is OS-related avj. I have other flavours of Linux here on partitions (for instance Mint which I use for this text) and I see the same. There's a lot about it here: https://www.google.com/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=chrome%20ssl%20connection%20error&gws_rd=ssl but I mostly like to use things without the hustle of fixing things. ;D |
