Re: Linux Lite 2.6 Final Released - rokytnji - 09-15-2015 going to fix mine Code: $ cat /etc/llver Just thought you might want to know is all. Edit: Code: $ sudo nano /etc/llver Edit: More fixing needed for lsb-release in /etc also after upgrade. Code: harry@misohorny1:/etc$ cat lsb-release Re: Linux Lite 2.6 Final Released - jbecker - 11-03-2015 I have a question that doesn't appear to have been addressed in these forums. I'm still on ver. 2.4 and my list of "packages have been kept back" just keeps growing longer. Before I upgrade to 2.6, should I run "sudo apt-get dist-upgrade" (as shown below) and then reply with "Y" (when prompted as to whether I want to continue) in order to upgrade the packages that have been kept back? Or should I perform the upgrade to 2.6 first and see which, if any packages are still "kept back" afterwards? Thanks. Code: :~$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade Re: Linux Lite 2.6 Final Released - Wirezfree - 11-03-2015 Hi, Unless somethings changed "NO" See this thread Re: Linux Lite 2.6 Final Released - torreydale - 11-03-2015 To jbecker, As seen on page one of this thread, all you have to do is the following: Quote:Upgrading: Re: Linux Lite 2.6 Final Released - Zead - 11-03-2015 I do dist-upgrade on LL all the time, because Lite Updater won't let me update kernel and some packages from PPAs (like graphics drivers)... No problems so far. Re: Linux Lite 2.6 Final Released - Valtam - 11-04-2015 Just keep in mind folks that we recommend against dist-upgrade, and this is stated in the Help Manual. Because we have clearly stated this, we will not give Support if you bork your system, especially when you have gone against what we recommend. This wastes Support time. OFC if someone wants to give you support even after running this command, it's a free world ![]() Re: Linux Lite 2.6 Final Released - steve.tolbert - 11-07-2015 Just upgraded from Linux Lite 2.4 to 2.6 with no problem at all. Took about 10 minutes. Great job on a great system. I have been a user of Linux Lite for about a year now. Of all the distros I have tried, I really like LL! Thanks again for such an awesome system.
