Virtual Consoles with dual Monitors - kjacobs - 03-17-2015 Hi folks, I just recently installed an old Nvidia GeForce 8400 dual head video card in my LL 2.2 machine and am loving the extra space. However, this morning I tried to access virtual console 1 (Ctrl + Alt + 1) and just got a blank screen. I have an application that runs in the background full time on that virtual console, and I could not see its status. I then tried the other virtual consoles with the same results.....no terminal prompt, just a black screen. Is there an issue with accessing virtual consoles when using multiple monitors??? This always worked fine when I was using a single screen.... Ken Re: Virtual Consoles with dual Monitors - avj - 03-17-2015 Not sure if it's the same on earlier versions of LL, I am using 2.4 beta and to open tty1 you can use Ctrl Alt F1. Re: Virtual Consoles with dual Monitors - kjacobs - 03-18-2015 Yes.....that always worked before with single screens. Now with dual screens it just goes to a blank screen. I can use CONSPY to see the virtual console....so I know they are working. It is just confusing that the CTRL + ALT option does not..... Re: Virtual Consoles with dual Monitors - avj - 03-18-2015 I use an extra screen with my netbook it works on both screens on my system. Re: Virtual Consoles with dual Monitors - kjacobs - 03-18-2015 Interesting....well it isn't a deal breaker, but sure is a bit inconvenient.....LOL. Be nice to figure out how to get it back. Re: Virtual Consoles with dual Monitors - avj - 03-18-2015 My display settings are set with both displays set to "same as" on the position selector drop down menu. |
