<chuckle> - Here's my intro... - Whatzit - 01-14-2020 Just spent an hour composing my intro and I guess my login timed out and I lost it. I'm shorting it up to follow the instructions after trying to update an "original" MacBook Air on two different APs on my home network. AP #1: =========================== Install Updates Error log =========================== Install Updates could not fetch the package cache information lists. Let me know what additional info is needed. I'll be sure to copy before I preview so I can paste it in another post after logging back in. :-) Thanks! Re: <chuckle> - Here's my intro... - Artim - 01-14-2020 Remove this old malfunctioning PPA: 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/george-edison55/nitroshare/ubuntu, then update normally. Re: <chuckle> - Here's my intro... - firenice03 - 01-15-2020 [member=10546]Whatzit[/member] Ditto on [member=6925]Artim[/member] posts To remove an offending PPA... Uncheck the PPA from "Software and Updates" under the "Other Software" tab.. Then try running updates again.. You can update from terminal or from Menu > Favorites > Install Updates Also within the manual https://www.linuxliteos.com/manual/software.html#pparem Re: <chuckle> - Here's my intro... - Whatzit - 01-16-2020 Yep. That got it. Hopefully clicking the "Thank" in your locations gets you a thumbs up. As for the real intro, I'm a boomer trying to eek a few more years of usage out of some personal hardware. Current LL installs on the 1st gen MacBook Air, a HP 2000 and an Optiplex 7010. By day I'm telephone tech for a Univerge SV9500 at a university, current count of 246 wired multiline stations, 60 multiline IP, 26 SIP, 1,290 POTs for faculty/staff/elevator/AOR/alarms, and 1,356 POTs in residence halls (but who connects a landline up in their dorm anymore?). We have our own Office Code (prefix) so I can program 10K numbers (I control the last 4 digits, called the Station Code: 3 digit Area Code, 3 digit Office Code, 4 digit Station Code make up a phone number). I sit with physical computers for voicemail/auto attendants, Info and IT Help Desk recorder for the ACD stations (for quality assurance and training...), ANAC, SMDR/billing and the PBX maintenance terminal. Virtuals for the Voicemail's mobile app and web GUI, and another for the actual ACD. They keep telling me that they're going get someone for me to train as my backup, but the last five have been too busy pulling Cat6 and fiber. So keeping a job past 65 (which I turn this year) seems to be a given. Anyway, thanks for the help. I've got an issue with the laptops printing off of one of the APs in my home network I'm composing here in a bit, hopefully I'll put it in the right subforum. Then it will be the Optiplex's display resolution. The manual appears to only cover 2 manufacturers and of course I've got a card from someone else. |
