Icon Themes no cache file - Dave W - 05-20-2022

I installed this elementary-xfce and one of the icon themes has

"Warning this icon theme has no cache file"

Than is suggests I can fix this by this command

gtk-update-icon-cache /user/share/icons/elementary-xfce-darkest

I than type

sudo gtk-update-icon-cache /user/share/icons/elementary-xfce-darkest

I get this result

output gtk-update-icon-cache: No theme index file.  Its this a folder type or a config file?

Other icon themes have this issue on some if the icon themes. One is obsidian theme which I liked. I now have since removed. I can apply the same solution other icon themes.

Thanks
Dave

Well I have a photo from appearance window which if you hover over the image with a Yellow triangle with an ! you get the option of how to fix the cache issue.

That's not the source. Where did you get it from?

That is where I got the command to fix the issue which is on the image I sent. I did a web search which did not provide much of insight.

I guess your asking where did I get the theme from it was synaptic.

Solved: Icon Themes no cache file - Dave W - 05-22-2022

I fixed it by removing the icon theme thanks. I did more research on this issue and its been around a long time and the only distribution that applied a fix was Linux Mint. I found another icon theme on synaptic that does not have this issue.
I was evaluating Linux lite compared to others. I will take my experience into account.
