ttyS0 permission denied - timbuck2 - 11-26-2022 I am trying to use the serial port to access a Lantronix mss100 via null modem cable - LL 5.4. Using gtkterm, when I run the program I get a "permission denied" message.  How do I gain access to the serial port? *Edit* Solved - I had to add myself as a member of the "dialout" group.  Now it is working.
