Help me, please! - CDROM and archive canonical - CountFoxx - 07-31-2025
I spent several hours - rolled into days trying to sort out the updates; including reinstalling Linux Lite several times, and till no luck with the updates installing.
Another thing I've noticed; whenever I tried the reboot (after I'm instructed to remove the USB drive), press enter key, I get an error, whereby the years keeps scrolling and won't stop until I press the power/off button on the laptop keyboard.
It's a Dell Latitude E-6220 laptop.

You have an unusual mix of symptoms of two known problems.
Error 3 and Error 4 usually only arise if you attempt to update an uninstalled system.
For example, if you boot off Live media and then try updating. I don't recall ever seeing this reported on an installed system so this is odd.
Error 11 is known to happen after running the Lite Tweak called Package System Repair. I suspect you may have tried running the Package System Repair tweak to fix the Error 3 and Error 4. The PSR tweak has a known bug which has been fixed, but you have to be able to update to get it. In this case running the unfixed tweak may have added another error.
Given the mix of problems, I'd suggest re-installing, but as you have already done this several times we can try to sort out the system as it is by removing the unwanted repositories.
Please boot up and open a terminal by pressing Ctrl Alt and T together.
In the terminal window that opens type in this commands to show what repositories you have.

That list doesn't explain why the canonical archive and cdrom repositories are causing problems when you try the update/upgrade process. I would try a fresh start - it may be quicker than trying to untangle what has happened.
Is your system a dual or multi boot set up ?
If yes, then please can you explain what OS you have and the methods you used when installing Linux Lite 7.4
If the system is Linux Lite 7.4 only
Boot from your 7.4 Live media - do not attempt update at this stage
Install Linux Lite to your system using the erase disk - uncheck the download updates option
On successful completion, at 'Please Remove installation media' screen, remove the media and power off with long press of the power button.
Reboot, sign in and connect to the Internet.
Then attempt to update/upgrade and report back.

I tried booting and updating the package software both ways. It downloads the package but runs into problems installing it. I tried to save the error log several times so I could present it here, but when I go to the folder where it should have been stored, it's not there.
The laptop doesn't have an erase disk, only USB ports. And I did everything else previously to your instructions, before coming on here for help.
I go to Menu/Favourites/Install Updates - Get the latest updates for your computer. Then it tells me, "You have the latest updates." I'm puzzled!

I am also confused. I wanted to be at the position of
Linux Lite 7.4 fully installed as the single OS onto the laptop's internal disk.
The Live media used for installation has been fully removed.
The laptop freshly rebooted from the newly installed OS.

Provided you have booted from the laptop's internal disk, we can try another method to record progress. Open a terminal as before (Ctrl Alt and T)
Run this command to get the system to check for possible updates. You will need to enter your password if asked.

When I got the error that way, I installed just the Linux Lite OS by itself. When that was done, I tried installing the update package, but got the same result.

Provided you have booted from the laptop's internal disk, we can try another method to record progress. Open a terminal as before (Ctrl Alt and T)
Run this command to get the system to check for possible updates. You will need to enter your password if asked.

Then run this command to initiate the upgrade process
