Ok, it said something about the / drive not being ready to be mounted and I should press F to fix it. I did and it said that there was some problem with /tmp and I can either wait or press S to skip. It only took about 2 seconds so I couldn't read the error message properly. The laptop rebooted and now it works again.
Edit: It seams this also fixed a problem I had with updating over the control center. Previously it could not fetch updates and I had to do manually with the terminal. Now it works again.
