Yeah, I'm glad too. I nearly gave up because I thought it was the LSB that was at fault (obsolete maybe). Now I am going to try it to my other very OLD computer which is running Lubuntu see I i can get the scanner running.

UPDATE: The steps mentioned were applied to LUBUNTU 16.04 and it was successful, I got my scanner working.
