Sick of the slow-downs and interruptions of Windows XP, I didn't even know there was anything else but Apple! Put off by the price of it, I looked online for an alternative and found Linux. A "distro chooser" pointed me to Ubuntu (9.04) and it worked okay, but it was ugly. So I tried different flavors and fell in love very quickly with Xubuntu!
When PulseAudio got pushed on users and caused all kindsa problems, I hopped for awhile, and found several that I really liked: PCLinuxOS, Linux Mint, then SalixOS (very different, Slackware-based but simplified "for Lazy Slackers") and it ran faster than anything I have used since. But it's still complicated and scary for a technophobic Ba'aku boy, so I kept hopping and ended up back on Xubuntu for the next ear and a half before I heard about Linux Lite, which I thought might bring an old hand-me-down computer back to life for a friend, and still be easy enough for a total newbie. I have had LL on at least one computer ever since. My others are Salix and MX-Linux.
