  Dockbar Size / Heigh
Posted by: Stephen Espx - 10-20-2023, 02:02 AM - Forum: Suggestions and Feedback - Replies (1)

Hi Guys,
I'm newbies in linux and found out Linux Lite and  I think I'll love this Distro

I hope you don't mind if I post what  I was thinking in my first login :
1. what do you think if the height of dockbar a little bit more taller
2. The Default menu font size, I think it's a little bit too thicker
but the Idea how the menu was organized is very very  Cool :045: for newbies I'm really really love the file manager way  :048:

If you allow me to post, next time I'll write you what I see in this Distro and hopefully it can make some contribution for you, but once again I'm newbies so please forgive me if I'm wrong  and sorry for my bad English.

Thanks for the this Amazing Distro

  security password
Posted by: mark stevenson - 10-14-2023, 03:34 PM - Forum: Installing Software - Replies (4)

Hi All, new here and confused. :59:

i downloaded and installed linuxlite onto my laptop. I'll be honest I'm hopeless at computers and generally don't use the laptop.

Today I fired it up to play around with it and i noticed that CHROME was requiring an update. Naturally I clicked the "update" icon and whilst it downloaded fine enough; I found, to my dismay, that I was expected to enter a password for the update to be installed.

The application requesting the password seems to be some sort of linus download/install manager.

As I say, I don't generally bother with the laptop as my efforts online are like that of most and can easily be handled with my phone.

My question is this- Does anyone know how I can change the password or do away with it all together?

Thanks to anyone with any advice/gets in touch.

  Had a issue installing updates
Posted by: Goof Ball - 10-14-2023, 01:27 PM - Forum: Other - No Replies

Hi, wasnt sure where to put this so im putting it here.

Be aware im new to linux been using windows 20+ years but decided to shift over to linux, so the problem i was having was installing updates i kept getting a message saying 'dpkg was interrupted, you must run 'dpkg -configure -a to correct the problem.'  Well that in itself is a problem and the reason for this post that command didnt work because it was meant to be '--' not '-' 20 minutes of life are now gone figuring that one out Smile, so id post this incase someone else who's new to linux might have the same problem

Hallo Community,

Dear Sir/Madam,

I was using my previous SSD Hard drive as an external hard drive and was working fine but today unfortunately unable to mount my data files. For further convenience, I am enclosing herewith a screenshot message as I am seeing. "Mount Failed

I shall be very thankful to someone else who can resolve my external SSD device's failure to mount.

Thanks with anticipation,

  Problems with sound
Posted by: Boris Y - 10-06-2023, 09:37 PM - Forum: Other - No Replies

After installing Linux Lite on Lenovo MIIX 320 10ICR, a problem appeared, 5 minutes after playing any file through the built-in speakers or the 3.5 jack of the device, the sound turns into noise, and there is no such problem through Bluetooth headphones or hdmi. How can i get the hardware running correct?

  Hibernation in LL
Posted by: wofoo - 10-06-2023, 08:53 PM - Forum: Start up and Shutdown - Replies (1)

I tried 'systemctl hibernate' on LL, and it fails. This is having a swap partition larger than ram. It kills networking, the screen goes blank, but rather than going to sleep it goes back to desktop.

Any ideas? Thanks
