Minimum recommended partition size for Lite 3.4 64 install?

What is the smallest recommended partition size for a full install of Linux Lite 3.4 64?
This info is not readily available on linuxliteos website or google search, except for an outdated forum post from 2011, relating to older version.
Plan is multi-boot of about six distro's (the only ones I found that boot and run okay from a live session -- I want to try them all out to find a fav that will run well on a 10 year old HP dv8000 xp machine. 1.8 Ghz single core 64 bit amd cpu. Upgraded to 2 Gb RAM, new battery, and new lcd screen, so I want to make this work!) Laptop only boots from optical drive, no option for usb boot in bios. Also IDE drives, slow bus...So, Live sessions are a bit slow for bigger distro's, that's why I want to install to hard drives...Only have two 80 gb drives (2nd is in the mail, off eBay) so space is limited somewhat, mostly by Win 7 on a 44 Gb primary partition (smallest I could make it afterwards using Win DiskMgmt after clean install) - but no sound or card reader drivers exist, and it takes up so much space, so I may scrub Win 7 entirely. The Linux distros only seem to have a problem with wifi card, but I can fix that later or use a usb wifi on hand - tested and works.
I can fit all Linux distros on one drive w/out Win, or keep Win and put two or three of the larger distros on the 2nd drive along with data directories.
Or I could just keep Win and Linux on separate drives, for that matter.
Any suggestions for Linux newbie would be appreciated, I have learned a lot in the past week...
Thanks!

Do you like quads, drone or other RC ?

Hello,
I recently got my first RC quad, it is a small quad E010, it's the first one to arrive, to try RC, it is an indoors one.
One more will arrive in a few weeks, it will be another quad called E012, it's a smaller sized model than E010 it is 65mm x 65mm.
I would like to know if any members like, or use quad/drones, or other RC type vehicles currently, or in the past ?
Which type of ones did you try using, have currently, or had previously ?
Does anyone hack/tweak their RC stuff ?
Or does anyone hack RC profiles with Linux and devo, taranis radio or others ?
I don't understand it just seen one video of setting radio, it didn't show adding of code but the setting up of E010 on devo radio, it mentioned that the code is done using Linux.
Which YouTube channels did you find useful when first try it, your favorites now, or do you have channel for this ?
Stats lol, I crashed at least 200 times, I managed to do flips, one time I managed to do 4 flips one after another and not crash it, several times I managed to do 2 flips, ceiling height is 2.3 metres.
Mostly I fly it like 20 or 30 seconds before crashing it.
It came with one battery of 30C and its charger, I also got a pack of 5 batteries that is 45C each and a charger, coz I really need the practice
Flight "hours" (minutes) so far, x3 charges of the 30C, x6 uses of a 45C. (eg I used 6 times a 45C battery, not 6 times 5 batteries etc) I used one again since recharging them all.
I don't have a camera for it yet, I need to learn to fly it more first. Pick right mountings and hoop for my crashes lol, and that is coordinated if possible.

Failed to mount USB drive (Samsung 4TB) - how to fix this?

My Samsung 4TB external USB drive fails to mount. I want to mount it as I want to wipe it clean and reformat it.
When I open the file manager, the name Samsung appears under DEVICES, but a notification on the display says "Failed to mount "Samsung". An operation is already pending".
However, using the terminal, this USB drive is detected by the command inxi -d, output from terminal shown as ...
Code: ID-2: USB /dev/sdb model: M3_Portable size: 4000.8GB
I think the reason for the failure to mount was that it was accidentally unplugged during a data transfer from PC to the USB drive, so I assume it now has corrupted sectors which I suppose is the cause of the problem. I'm hoping I haven't lost the use of this drive for good ... :'(
I should add that when I 'eject' this USB drive under DEVICES, it never completes the process, so I have to unplug it before its properly 'ejected'. When I unplug it I get the following message in the notification that appears on the display:
Code: Failed to mount “SAMSUNG”
Error mounting /dev/sdb1 at /media/SAMSUNG: Command-line `mount -t "ntfs" -o "uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid,uid=500,gid=500" "/dev/sdb1" "/media/SAMSUNG"' exited with non-zero exit status 13: Error reading bootsector: Input/output error
Failed to sync device /dev/sdb1: Input/output error
Failed to mount '/dev/sdb1': Input/output error
NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows
then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very
important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate
it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g.
/dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation
for more details.
So, how can I force a mount so that the drive can be reformatted?
Many thanks, as always, for any help with this.
Mike

First time joining any forum, looking forward to being a member of this community.
I switched from Windows to Ubuntu about 10 years ago, then started distro hopping
until I settled on Linux Lite late last year.
I like the Linux community and their willingness to share and help. I like Linux because I can tweek 'til the cows come home (natural-born tweeker). I really like Linux Lite because I can make it run on my old computers, the install is quick and easy, and it just runs straight out of the box. Of course, my tweekiness causes me to change things up, but that's the fun of Linux! ;D

Do I really need Samba?

Like a few others here, I am older and need it simply-stated. Having read about the Samba vulnerabi-
lity and realizing I am now 100% Linux Lite, I have to wonder how important Samba would be for me.
Could I just UNINSTALL it, and remove any potential problems? When would I need Samba if not dual-
booting with Windows?
Sorry if this is one of those 'stupid questions.' Also hope this was the best place to post this.

Broken packages linux kernel

I go to synaptic package manager and I get this message.
"You have 2 broken packages on your system"
I go to the "Broken" filter and it comes up with 2 packages.
1. Linux kernel extra modules for version 4.4.0 on 64 bit x86 SMP
2. Generic Linux kernel image
I hilite #1 and it tells me
"You likely do not want to install this package directly. Instead, install
the linux-generic meta-package, which will ensure that upgrades work
correctly, and that supporting packages are also installed."
I search "linux-generic meta-package" and a list comes up but not with "meta-package" in it.
Can this be affecting my "Install Updates" which, recently, has had no new updates.
