Audacity chases me around on the XFCE Desktop

If you do a google search you might find my post on other linux sites. This has been a very annoying issue with the XFCE desktop. I've been looking for a solution for a long time. Today I decided to crack down and get this out there in case someone has found a solution. I tried the XFCE forums first but back then I didn't have an actual video to show them. I updated my post there and now there is a video too.
When I am opening up a bunch of podcast mp3 files for editing, and I try to go to another workspace to browse the Internet, audacity follows me. Not like it would if I had the desktop set to have it show on all workspaces. Watch the video and you should be able to see what I mean.
I'm running XFCE 4 and Audacity 2.1.2.

question about upgrading to newer version

I am running an older version of linux lite, I would like to upgrade to the newer version 3.2 I know that I can backup and restore everything in the Home folder, but is there a way to keep track of and save any of the modifications I have made which may not be in my home folder? Over time I have made quite a few changes/additions to the stock OS. I have Back in Time installed, but I think that would only help with restoring the older distro. Originally I tried to start a list of programs that I installed through the Lite Software Center, but as with many good intentions it has not been kept up to date. Also, there were a lot of things I changed which were not through the GUI, some were through a terminal, some with Wine, as I said I wanted to keep a list but eventually forgot to.
One of the main reasons I want to do this is my Firefox no longer works properly, it opens in a fresh window every time and does not keep any bookmarks or tabs. I tried restoring from backup but it hasn't fixed it. If necessary I might have to start a separate thread about the browser problem, but it occurred to me that one way around it might be to upgrade to a newer Linux Lite and a fresh browser installation.

Hi everyone. I recently installed Linux Lite and I am quite new to linux in general. Before i installed Linux Lite i used windows 7 and all the files i needed i back them up in an old hard disk which i used as secondary on win 7. Now that i installed Linux Lite on my primary hard drive i want to retrieve my files and i was wondering if it may cause losing files when i connect the old hard disk to the mother board?

Hello People,a little bit of background:On the demise of Windows XP I switched to LUBUNTU 12.04 until that became inoperable & then "upgraded" to UBUNTU 14.something then 16.something each becoming increasingly inoperable with every update taken onboard it seemed until I decided that the lack of RAM might be the problem (this computer has .5 MB so hence the attempt to install Linux Lite).
Now to the present situation: I bought a Linux Lite DVD off a character on ebay (having given up in despair at using any other option for various reasons). It seems official & is for Linux Lite 2.6 so it says on the actual DVD & after a fashion managed to install the operating system but it won't allow updates or to be upgraded through the operating systems own facilities so thought I would try the command line terminal thing which it says is a simple way to upgrade just type "sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install lite-upgrade.series 2.8" (that being the most sensible option it seemed to me to get the latest one despite the previous attempt to install via the onboard application which only gave me the option to upgrade to 2.4? All a bit odd).Anyway on typing that command line it runs through a process I type in my password & it buzzes away a bit more & then comes to a standstill at " Linuxlite@linuxlite-PN121AA-ABU-mll80-uk:$" What the hell am I supposed to do then?
& while I have got your attention if somebody could explain why my keyboard continues to type " when I want @ & vica verser despite my making sure that the keyboard I use is English (UK) in the settings facility that would be very nice.
PS: I see in the box to the left I am apparently using Linux Lite 3.2.I certainly did'nt input that.

I am a complete newb... I did a clean install of Linux Lite 3.2. because I was having resource issues with Ubuntu 16.04.1 Everything seems to work fine... Firefox, YouTube, etc... I do have one serious issue though. When I open the main menu, theres just icons, no descriptions. I wanted to install the restricted extras. I know the package managers icon so I clicked it. It opened the dialog box asking for my password but the text displayed was missing and garbled. I put my password in anyway and the package manager opened but again... no text just check boxes. I don't know what to do now.

Hello,
I am writing a new post for my little Linux blog and need a little help please.
A Linux Distribution is shortened to Distro, when meaning more than one Distro is it -
1/ Distro's
2/ Distros
3/ Distros'
4/ Distro
It is telling me all are incorrect.
I am near to publishing it, just a bit more to do.

Install Updates error Intel Graphics Stack

Hello,
I have an error -
Process as follows, I use Menu>Install Updates
It says these 2 updates are available -
1 : Name: libcairo-gobject2 INSTALLED: 1.14.6-1 AVAILABLE: 1.15.2-0intel1
2 : Name: python-crypto INSTALLED: 2.6.1-6ubuntu0.16.04.1 AVAILABLE: 2.6.1-6ubuntu0.16.04.2
Installing gives an error gui saying -
Linux Lite Updates have failed. For more information refer to:
/var/log/llupdates.log
The log file referred to says -
Reading package lists...
Building dependency tree...
Reading state information...
Calculating upgrade...
The following packages will be upgraded:
libcairo-gobject2 python-crypto
2 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 379 kB of archives.
After this operation, 0 B of additional disk space will be used.
WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!
libcairo-gobject2
E: There were unauthenticated packages and -y was used without --allow-unauthenticated
Edit -
I have used Lite Tweak and clean the packages, the python-crypto error has now gone.
I think the gobject error is the intel graphics stack as 1.15.2 is the newer version of this.
I have tried updating this using the gui from the menu that it added on install, it has updated version 1.14, but not updated to 1.15.
Rechecking Install updates the error remains for 1.15.2
