Since the release of Lite 3.2, I can't seem to upgrade or install anything at all. Some error while upgrading lite-software seems to be stopping it.
Code: Setting up lite-software (2.0-0200-linuxlite) ...
sed: can't read /etc/X11/Xsession.d/98vboxadd-xclient: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing package lite-software (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
lite-software
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
I'm still using 3.0 because I can't upgrade anything. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Interesting little quirk in the behavior of the new widget. When I open up XFCE4 terminal, Logged in as: reads trinidadtrinidad in the widget. When I exit the terminal it reverts back to the single entry - trinidad. Does not do this with LX terminal, or ROX terminal, only XFCE4 terminal. Not sure why yet.
Wow just tried it again, opened three XFCE4 terminals and got: trinidadtrinidadtrinidadtrinidad.
Also does it with UX terminal, and X terminal. Tried changing defaults but makes no difference.

Hi
Yesterday I tested LINUX LITE on my 10 years old Acer laptop. It looked great and worked free of problems but after the installation I realized that the screen resolution is 640x480, I didnt find a way to change it.
Does anybody have a solution or an idea how to fix it?

I have installed Linux Lite 3.2 64-bit from a clean slate on my antiquated laptop (see my stats :-) ). All times are measured from the beginning of the boot from the LL3.2 USB drive.
26:42 - Full base install - installed to HD, first boot completed.
51:17 - Updates and Upgrade completed.
1:28:41 - EVERYTHING I need is installed - QupZilla, Pinta, Restricted Extras, DropBox, DropBox tray icon fix, and all the software, fonts, etc. for full Hebrew functionality in LibreOffice - plus all my desired tweaks (icons, windows, fonts etc.).
I have a work-ready laptop within an hour and a half! With very simple installation. In Windows 7, this process might take over 24 hours, most of which due to the horrible Windows Update system.

I disabled my problem with my number locks enabled with just
No need for a external keyboard anymore. My P,L,M keys now work on the netbook keyboard.
Notice no /swap partition on here. I have 2 gig of ram on this touchscreen. Touch screen works by the way. I am using the onboard keyboard on it. You can see the executable in my inxi readout above under which onboard command.
Reason for this install is. I needed a small netbook for my motorcyle saddlebags that would interface with my Samsung S7 Edge Android 6 Marshmellow phone. Which LL 3.2 does when I turn on MTP share on my phone under developer tools and usb tether on. I already loaded up all my mp3 and Iphone 5S (already sold) pictures from my old phone through to the new phone using LL.
LL= Linux-Lite
Hint for 1024X600 netbook users. Alt+left mouse click is your friend when needing to grab a window for a open gtk window and move it up to get to a button not seen yet on the bottom.

Fresh install was done this evening.

| Welcome Screen typos |

The first sentence in the second paragraph of the Welcome Screen text has some errors, mainly in punctuation.
Currently it reads:
"Linux Lite aims to provide each user with a basic collection of everyday tools, a web browser, email client, media player an Office suite an image editor and so on."
It should read:
"Linux Lite aims to provide each user with a basic collection of everyday tools: a web browser, an email client, a media player, an office suite, an image editor, and so on."
The most important changes are the colon after "tools" (signifying a list to follow), the addition of a comma after "media player", and adding consistency to the issue of whether to have an indefinite article ("a" / "an") in front of each list item.
A bit more debatable is the question of whether to capitalize the word "office" - in the replacement text I provide above I removed it because the phrase "office suite" is not a proper noun the way "Microsoft Office" or "GNOME Office" is. (LibreOffice is not a phrase, just a single word in camelcase.)
More debatable (and in fact divisive among grammar nerds) is the issue of the serial comma: whether to have a comma after the second-to-last item in a list of three or more; the item just before the "and" (or sometimes "or"). The majority of official style guides (including MLA, Chicago Manual of Style, Strunk & White, and APA) say to include that comma, so I added it in my replacement text above (where it comes after "image editor").
While I can post suggestions, I don't know how actually to fix the Welcome Screen text myself, so I invite and request whoever can to do so.

Hi all
I was trying to help a friend get rid of windows and install LL but i have encountered a problem. The laptop is a Toshiba with UEFI, i thought at first it will be easier to just install mint on it and all went alright till i saw what a mess it is ( can't believe i was using it just some 4 months back !).
On trying to install LL i chnaged from UEFI to CSM,i chose cd-rom as first boot choice and finally changed sata drivers(?) to AHCI mode. Tried installing LL and i see there is progress but the screen kept blinking right from start and i gave up after about 30 minutes. When i use a windows 7 cd it installs until it mentions something about automatically stopping the installation to prevent damage to my computer.
I need to also mention that the onboard keyboard is not working so i have to rely to an external keyboard and LL seems to have issues with that since i can not do F2 when booting. My question: What options do i have to install LL?
I saw Jerry has made available for a limited time LL that can me installed on UEFI machines. Can that be something worth trying? Thanks !
