board:Intel® Server Board S1200V3RPL
processor: Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1275 v3 (8M Cache, 3.50 GHz)
board is the standard Xeon type for a normal computer case and it has a built in vga graphics port
processor is the standard Xeon that has built in intel HD4600 graphics
The intel board was more expensive than some of the other boards. I didn't want any compatibility issues for this because of this being my first linux build so i paid the extra for both intel brand. Spatry's cup of linux review was great on linux lite, he said his 70 year old mother uses it and how user friendly it is. My experience with it is great so far however it doesn't seem to figure out my on board graphics. I click system>system information>display and it says

My computer shut down abruptly due to a power outage and I cannot get it to re- boot . The screen comes up in terminal mode and displays the following message: Linux Lite 1.0.8 LTS ochilds-Dimension-4300 tty1 and then ask for login. When I put in the proper login info, it displays the message login incorrect. Can anyone help?

HI, I'm trying to install myth-tv. I have to add my user to the myth-tv group. I enter my password and it says 'wrong password'. It is NOT the wrong password.
This thing was solved on another computer once a while ago, but I can't for the life of me remember exactly how.
It had something to do with something using su instead of sudo for verification (I may have that the wrong way around) and there was a graphic window involved.
I have searched and searched and not gotten anywhere.
Please help me :-[

Re-installing Xarchiver; Fixing broken filter in Synaptic Package Manager |

I completely removed Xarchiver in Synaptic Package Manager so that I could install latest version of Xarchiver. Big mistake! After downloading the latest version of Xarchiver, I could not extract the files. Tried to re-install older version of Xarchiver in Lite Software Manager and received error message. Then tried to re-install Xarchiver in Synaptic Package Manager and also received error message that all files could not be retrieved.
Closed down and re-opened Synaptic Package Manager. Dialogue box stated that there was a broken filter in this program. Followed instructions to fix broken packages but it didn't work. Help!

I just downloaded linuxlite. I had no problem with internet connectivity using an ethernet cable but my wireless network wasn't recognized. I searched for additional drivers to get my Broadcom wireless activated, downloaded the driver, and now neither wireless nor wired internet will work. How have I messed up?

PAE Kernel question |

Hi All,
Do I need to install the PAE Kernel under additional software with Linux Lite 1.0.8 or does it automatically use a PAE Kernel if it detects one during install? System Info seemed to show a newer Kernel then the one used through the PAE install so I am confused and need some clarification on what to use. Thank you.

Hi all!
Is there a simple way to format an USB stick? In the newer Linux Mint there is a tool called MintStick. Any change of that one coming over to Linux Lite?
I must say, in the years past I have been trying several versions of Linux on my laptop... Ubuntu, Mint, Arch etc. But I find Linux Lite to be the fastest :-)

Acer C720 Touchpad |

There are a few guides and patches out there. Some of them are for Arch, and some are for Ubuntu. I haven't managed to get one working (I assume this has something to do with the different version of ubuntu and/or Linux kernel).
Has anyone here managed to get the touchpad working on Linux Lite? I really don't want to use standard Ubuntu, and I REALLY don't want to use Arch.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could help out.
