How do I uninstall Opera Browser.  When I right click icon it doesn't present a remove option as stated in the Linux Lite manual.

Maybe the Linux Lite project will consider opportunity of pre-installed LL 2.6 (and later...) and sales Linux-compatible hardware, such as nettops Intel NUC? It could add funds for development of the project. Site thinkpenguin.com sells Linux hardware, for example with pre-installed Linux Mint. I am use Intel NUC DN2820(2830)FYKH0 (2014 year), all works fine out the box in LL 2.4-2.6 Beta (some notes with Intel BIOS), now are available Intel NUC5CPYH (with 2-Cores Celeron) & NUC5PPYH (with 4-Cores Pentium).

[size=1em]Following my move to Linux, in the wake of XP's death, I had great difficulty in finding instructions on how to set up an Epson Perfection V500 Photo Scanner with Linux. In the end I did find instructions at the following link:

I followed the instructions, in the above link, to the letter: the scanner now works very well in Linux Lite, though without all the additional benefits (e.g. scanning slides or colour film negatives, editing to remove blemishes from old photos, etc) that came with the scanner's Windows OS software. 

The above link may also work for other Epson scanners and maybe it's worth a try if you are having problems with scanner compatibility in either LL or other  Ubuntu-based distros.

I used Image Scan! for Linux (also known as iscan) to operate the scanner, which appears to come by default with the LL2.4 iso file package - just type iscan in the search box that appears as soon as you click on LL's Menu icon and you should see [/size][size=1em]Image Scan! for Linux appear in the menu's list of applications.
[/size][size=1em]If you have luck with the above link (i.e. with installing a scanner other than an Epson Perfection V500 with iscan software) it would be helpful to other readers if you mention the make & model and post them on this thread as a reference...[/size]

I found that using Lite Tweaks does a great job at cleaning things up.
I have also been "carefully" using Bleachbit, which offered a lot of translation files to remove.
On one PC that I use infrequently, but do keep up-to-date it had 900MB+ of extra files...!!
Having done some Googling it appears that apt-get pulls lots of translation/language files.
I also found away to limit the extra files, so far it appears to have reduced the extra files.
You may want to test this on Virtualbox, or a test box.

When terminal or text editor is open, pressing any key doesn't type anything at all. I checked LinuxLite keyboard layouts but there's no suitable layout for my notebook which has 84 keys. The mousepad works fine and functional (can click at icons). I tried a lot of other popular distros. None of them have this problem. Windows XP and 7 also doesn't have this problem. Someone please help as I really want to make LinuxLite the Linux distro on my notebook after trying out many other distros.

20150823 Dear Folk, I just loaded Linux Lite on an old machine. It loaded OK but did not set even though asked the Keyboard to UK keyboard (Check is # and £ signs from keyboard as they differ from USA keyboards). Not intuitive to set up keyboard as it required downloading extra languages and  then set up both system and regional.  Suggest you include a keyboard selector  in menu  for first time start up to sort it out.
Experience: Computer user since 1957 (very old mainframe) Usually use OpenSUSE at home and Windows 7 at work. This is a trial on an old computer from which an old MS OS has been removed. Eionmac

Is there any way to move a bunch of emails from one SSD to another SSD?  I have about 100 emails on my old SSD where I had LL.  I've installed LL on a new SSD but still need those emails.  I used to use Mozbackup when I had Windows computers but it gives me an error message when I try it with Wine on this computer.  I'm using Thunderbird, if it matters.

I have an HP laptop (A10, 6GB RAM, AMD video, BEATS audio) that is my Linux only machine.  It has a 750 GB drive and I have a pair of 120 GB partitions where I install distros and the remainder is a shared data partition.  LL 2.6 sits on sda1 and it controls GRUB.

So I haven't used any other distros in a while so I installed the latest Ubuntu Mate on sda2.  I like Mate (it seems the runaway CPU core issue is gone now) so I set it up the same as LL 2.6 to compare look and feel.  Both LL 2.6 and Mate are configured as close to the same as I could given the different DEs.  (kernels, xorg, startup stuff)

So, like I always do I run the benchmarks in the system profiler (hardinfo) and the "blowfish" test is the one I use for quick comparisons.  In LL 2.6 it scores a 4.08, in Mate I got 4.85.  Big difference and it must be due to the overhead in Mate as the hardware didn't change.  This test don't really mean anything, I was just surprised at the significant difference...
