Found help for Citrix installation for EMR on LL 4

Hi. New user. 1 comment and 1 question.
COMMENT: In case anyone is wondering how to do this, I got citrix installed and working through Chromium on LL 4.4. Noting LL 4.4 is based on Ubuntu 14.04 (as per jerry), I downloaded citrix 13.2 "Receiver for Linux Web client" .deb (the non self serve package) and the "Receiver for Linux" .tar.gz files.
I used this site for instructions:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Citrix...1563635154
This site for downloads:
https://www.citrix.com/downloads/citrix-...-13-2.html
Magic happened. I think that made chromium work. I did download various firefox plugins and I couldn't get FF to find them anywhere so that doesn't work. I think it is a certifcate problem but since I barely know what that means I just use Chromium.
Question: any advantage to using Firefox for this? If so, how to get it to work? Thanks

I performed an update for Linux Lite and the update was interrupted and received the following error. Could someone help me correct this problem? Thank you much!
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

LL for kids' laptop for homeschool - will this work with Dropbox/Adobe Connect?

Hello! 1st post anywhere re: Linux. Having stumbled through the forum intro document and understood <50%, I am hesitant to install LL. I am considering LL for my kid's old laptop (Pentium dual core 2.16 Ghx, 4 GB RAM, HDD, c 2008, now runs Vista), which they use for homeschooling. But, we have never used Linux for anything. Mainly they need to word process but we'd like to have either Google docs working or Dropbox, and also have them in online courses through Adobe Connect (and some others - such as Acellus App for Power Homeschool). They are ages 8 and 10, no programming experience. Is this a doable thing, or should we can it and buy some crappy tablet that "just works"? I have other windows machines (W10) that can be used in a pinch, just hate to throw away working computers, and I thought it would be cool for them to learn about computers this way. Thanks in advance for thoughts/advice. (Ed - the laptop works ok w/ Vista now, but cloud hosted documents are very slow as is browsing, downloads etc)

I tried to install Brave browser in my Linux desktop by following an online guide/article. I apparently did not correctly follow the instructions as I ended up corrupting my package sources. Now, I cannot update nor install any application. I cannot restore because I have not installed Timelight or similar ones.
Please, please help. Here is what the terminal says:
E: Malformed entry 2 in list file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/brave.list (Component)
E: The list of sources could not be read.

T
installed LL safe mode on HP dv2000, all works well, contuned nthe normal installation and at reboot time, I get messages.. NO IRQ HANDLER, LFENCE NOT SERIALIZING and SWITCHING TO RETPOLINE.
Then I get several screens to make the installation but nothing works.
I tried installing other version of linux on this machine with the same results.
there must be a cure but as a newbie, I am left with high hopes, thanks for any help

Mouse Acceleration

Running Lite 4.4 on a HP desktop.
Under Settings/Mouse & Touchpad/Acceleration,
the Acceleration slider has no effect
on my mouse's acceleration.
This is the case with both a wired and a wireless mouse.
I have to use the xinput command to change the mouse acceleration.
Using xinput works fine with both the wired and wireless mice,
although the acceleration property is worded differently between the two types.
Could this be a bug, or am I overlooking something.
I have tried 2 wireless mice and 4 wired mice and
get the same result, which is that the slider has no effect.
Edit: After researching this problem, it appears to be a bug
in ubuntu 18.04, which was corrected in ubuntu 18.10.
So, it seems the only way to change the mouse acceleration
is with the xinput command and to keep it set, put the command
in application startup.

Updated snapshot of Lite 4.4

After installing Linux Lite 4.4, the initial update list seems to be very long
and it takes quite a while for the updates to install.
It would be very nice if there were a periodically updated snapshot .iso file
(perhaps once a month) that would include all the updates.
If you're just installing on your own personal computer, no big deal, but
if you're installing Lite on numerous other computers from time to time,
it would sure be a time saver.
