| Canon Pixma MG3122 printer/scanner: Wi-Fi won't detect |

The device works fine with USB connection, but I can't understand anything I've read about getting it to connect via my router. There is no driver available from Canon for Linux, and I am lost regarding CUPS, URI, etc. The installation disk, of course, is for Windows 7, so it is useless.
I was able to print out the following info: Canon MG3100 Series, CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.13, Driver: STP00492.PPD (no clue where that came from).
At least I'm using an Acer Aspire One D255E, so I can easily carry it in to the room where the printer/scanner sits, but I would really like to use Wi-Fi for the printing, at least.

Hi.
I have running LL 4.2 for about half a year by now. From the very first boot after LL was installed, it took some amount of time for it to boot. Last OS installed on the same laptop was LL 3.6, and back then it bootet very fast compared to now.
Hope you can help me find the reason why. I'll try to add as much information I beleive is needed.

Hello!
I'm completely new to Linux Lite or any other open source software, basically, I'm null in computers.
I used to use a piano MIDI keyboard (it was such a challenge to install everything necessary i still have no idea how i managed it.
Suddenly QjackCtl stopped seeing it (but the board still turns on).
I thought I should install updates and new drivers but Linux is showing me this:

I am in the process of attempting to install 4.4 but am having a couple of problems.
During the setup process I checked the keyboard configuration and all seemed OK; when I attempted to enter a password containing the letter "o", it came up as a "/" instead. I did not try all the keyboard keys and tried to go back to the previous window. The system is no stuck and nothing is happening except a wheel is turning but I cannot do anything else. Reading from the USB drive is very slow.
Should I attempt to download another version?? I am new to Linux and thought lite would be easy to handle but have run into these problems so far.

Hi Everyone,
My Name is Roman I'm a Student of History from Austria and I have switched my entire Workflow over to Linux in 2018 because I didn't like any of Apples Computers since 2013 because even the professional line by then started to become unupgradeable Trash with a sup par lifespan. I had been working on and with Macs for 10 years at that point and going back to a Non-*nix System like Windows was just not in it for me.
So I stayed. Built an entirely liquid cooled Ryzen Workstation with a 1080TI on which after some Distro-Hopping I decided to run ElmentaryOS.
My Laptop (A 2015 MBPro Retina 13") had seen a number of DualBoot Solutions over the last year (Elementary OS+ MacOS, OpenSuse+MacOS, Fedora+ MacOS, Ubuntu + MacOS) Mac OS wise I stayed on 10.11 because all the Operating Systems after El Capitan lacked Stability and were crammed with useless features. When my battery let me know that it had only 70% of its past capacity and the difference became noticeable I wiped the disk and decided to go for something lightweight, optimized and simple which I could then customize to fit my needs. So I went with Linux Lite. Which thanks to a new Theme and a Plank Dock now looks and feels a lot like Cupertinos OS. And yes I love dark themes:
![[Image: sFOrd5J.jpg]](https://i.imgur.com/sFOrd5J.jpg)
I use it primarily for Writing, editing photos, doing research (although most of the big workloads -like batch downloading- are taken over by my workstation) and coding on the go. I work with Processing and have been for a number of years, Bash, Python and I do some RAD development using Lazarus, which is essentially a FOSS Delphi.
I'm very much looking forward to be part of the community Thx for having me ;D

I have LiLi 3.8 and 4.0 LIVE on 16gb sticks and they have always updated ok. I formatted Fat32 a new 16gb stick and installed the 4.4 LIVE via Universal USB Installer and it installed with errors. However, at one point it was stuck asking me for a passwor and username--for which I has no idea what to enter--since the Announcement page said u/s & p/w were not used. So then I reformatted Fat32 and used Rufus to install. It too installed with no errors. I used my 4.0 LiLi to change the partition to the full 14.5gb usable.I changed my repo mirror to the US West and I still can not complete the update. After it shows the log, I look at System/Partition and I show 1.8gb used and the rest Unused. If I use File Sytem, it show 60mb Free. So what is the difference. Did I not really add the Unallocated Partition to the Allocated part? Anyway--here is my log with most of the error free stuff removed. I have used sudo apt autoremove numerous times before trying to update. I have also installed Chrome as my default browser.
Hopefully you can point me in the right direction,
Thanks, Ron

Con ni chi wah,
Suggestions needed, heres the situation:A friend of mine liked my Linux Lite installation and tried to install Linux Lite on an old nc6400 HP Laptop (1GB, 80GB HDD, had WinXP). He tried LL4 but wireless card didn't show (after updates and drivers scan either). He's pretty sure it has a WiFi card inside but it's really old so...
He brought me the beast. I dont see a WiFi card in the BIOS but lots of laptops don't show it there either.
I tried live booting 3.8 and even 2.8 wihout success on wireless.
I then tried current/previous gen versions of Bodhi, Mint, Zorin, DFLinux, Deepin, Manjaro, PepperMint and Porteus. MX would not boot on it.Results vary. Some show the Bluetooth adapter, some have the Wireless switch working but only for bluetooth. But, none see a Wireless card.Tried lspci/hardinfo, nothing found in listings.
EDIT : Forgot to mention that on Linux 3.8, I tried 10 different Kernels from 4.15 to 4.1, 4.1 had corrupted display - also tried 5.x (I don't remember version) and that didn't work, no boot).
EDIT2 : Everything was 32bits, because 1GB.
Laptop has some special antitheft screws (it was a company laptop) so it will be hard to open it.
Is there any other way/command than what I tried to be sure there IS a WiFi card in there?

During my test runs of 4.4, I was unable to type words using the right hand side of the keyboard until I figured out the Fn key was needed. I suggest that somewhere prominently a warning about NumLk be displayed for new users before they attempt to install.
The issue would be setting up the log in password, which would be compromised by typing (and not seeing) the incorrect password due to the NumLk requirement. This confusion could be quite daunting for newbies and the unaware. Otherwise, except for the presence of Google everywhere, I love Linux Lite 4.4 and thank Jerry and all the other developers that have given us the beautiful, free operating system.
